Book Fair & Author Signing At Tarrytown Nursery School

Tarrytown Nursery SchoolTarrytown Nursery School, is hosting a book fair and author signing on Saturday, December 4th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ackerman Hall, located at the corner of West Elizabeth Street and John Street, Tarrytown. The nursery school invites children and parents to participate in the celebration, which will include a book sale concentrating on children’s literature, author book signing, and gift boutiques from several vendors, including A Nu Toy Store, www.anutoystore.com  and jewelry-maker Katherine Kornblau, www.kjkjewelry.com.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring together the community, our school’s families and these authors in such a unique fashion,” says Pre-K teacher Rosie O’Keefe. “We as a school truly value the importance of reading and consider this an amazing opportunity to get children excited about reading."

A periodic story time will be held to keep children occupied while parents do early holiday shopping.  Entrance to the book fair is free and 20-25% of book sales and 10% of all vendor sales will benefit the Tarrytown Nursery School, which is a licensed non-profit nursery school.

“The book fair and author signing is an excellent way to get children interested in reading. For those who already love a certain series, meeting the author or illustrator can be an unforgettable experience,” says Nick Bruel, author/illustrator and organizer for the event.

Authors and illustrators in attendance will include: New York Times Bestseller George O’Connor, author and illustrator of a new graphic novel series based on the Greek Gods; Arthur Howard, illustrator of the Mr. Putter and Tabby series; Mark Siegel, illustrator of the Geisel Award-winning To Dance; Marisabina Russo, author and illustrator of Always Remember Me; IRA Children’s Book Award winner The Line-Up Book; Kate Feiffer, author of picture books for young children including Which Puppy and The Problem with Puddles; Katie Davis, author and illustrator of I Hate to Go to Bed and Who Hops?; Colleen AF Venable, author of a new series of graphic novels for young children — Guinea P.I.(G), Pet Shop Private Eye; and Nick Bruel, author and illustrator of the internationally popular Bad Kitty series.
