It’s coming… the season of big extended-family dinners, unannounced visitors “dropping by,” impromptu cocktail parties with the neighbors, and endless trips to the wine store for another last minute hostess gift. The Holiday Season is upon us, and I LOVE IT. Every bit of it! But even I have to admit, it is much easier to enjoy this whirlwind time of year when you’re prepared for it.
On December 10th at 8:15 pm, Sleepy Hollow will observe the 15th anniversary of the 1996 Village renaming with a bell-ringing at the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow.
The traditional annual bell-ringing celebrates the December 10th, 1996 public referendum that renamed the Village Sleepy Hollow by a vote of 2 to 1.

After almost three years of collective bargaining, the Irvington Union Free School District Board of Education and the Irvington Faculty Association (“IFA”) are pleased to announce that the parties have reached agreement on a seven-year contract, which runs retroactively from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2016.

This February, the Yonkers Riverfront library is proud to present an exciting and educational exhibit about the Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club (YPRC), formerly the Yonkers Canoe Club, currently celebrating its 126th year. For years, the Yonkers Canoe Club sent many teams to national canoeing championships and brought home Olympic Gold in 1948. Today, YPRC is a community of paddlers and rowers who share a boathouse and a passion for human-powered boating.
