Sleepy Hollow Bell Ringing at the Old Dutch Church

Renaming leaders - Chris Skelly, Henry Steiner, John O'Leary in 2006 On December 10th at 8:15 pm, Sleepy Hollow will observe the 15th anniversary of the 1996 Village renaming with a bell-ringing at the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow.

The traditional annual bell-ringing celebrates the December 10th, 1996 public referendum that renamed the Village Sleepy Hollow by a vote of 2 to 1.

Following the counting of the vote on that date a spontaneous assembly gathered at the Old Dutch Church to ring in the new Village name.  Those present generally take a hand in ringing the ancient 300-year-old church bell.  This  year Village officials, past and present, are expected to attend.  Those wishing to participate are welcome
