Remembering Britney Rae Fitzgerald… 1st Annual Memorial/Scholarship Fundraiser

Britney FitzgeraldOn Saturday, August 28 from 1-6 p.m., the 1st Annual Memorial/Scholarship Fundraiser will take place at Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, under the gazebo.

One year ago on August 27, 2009, a brave, vibrant, energetic young lady named Britney Fitzgerald died after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Britney was not only a leader at Sleepy Hollow High School but a true friend to all.

A scholarship fund was established at the High School in her name. Britney’s family would like to continue the scholarship  with the help of the community, a community that Britney embraced and contributed to. All donations made to the fundraiser will go directly to the scholarship fund. Checks can be made out to: The Britney Fitzgerald Scholarship c/o Gibraltar Management Inc., 150 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591 Attn: Cindy Bohlander.

Anyone seeking to contribute food, prizes or picnic essentials can do so by contacting, Gregory Fitzgerald at (914) 618-1381, or Leslie Fitzgerald at (914) 564-1499.

Britney had a joy for life, and the day (August, 28) will reflect that love of a good time with food, music, games and a healthy dose of fun. Tickets to the memorial fundraiser are $10.

With the heartfelt sincerity of a mother and father, our family and I thank you.

Leslie Fitzgerald
