Astorino Vetoes Sanctuary County Law

Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino today vetoed a sanctuary county law passed last week by the Board of Legislators, saying in his veto message that the Act “endangers public safety, violates federal law, infringes upon long-established principles of law enforcement cooperation and jeopardizes millions in federal public safety grants.” The Immigration Protection Act was approved 10-5 by the Board of Legislators last week and the county executive is within the 10-day deadline to veto the Act.

There are vacations to every part of this special globe we inhabit. Near and far. Extravagantly costly and budget priced. Action packed and reflectively peaceful. You think it, chances are someone or many ones have done it. So, what’s new under the sun as the adage goes? For many it would be motorsports, and specifically, road racing with the likes of Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Lexus, McLaren, Porsche and other easily recognized car manufacturers going fast and loud on tracks in some of the most beautiful countryside this country displays.

Gala a Big Success for Westchester Children’s Association

“The Legacy of Tomorrow Starts Today.” That was the theme of the annual gala of the Westchester Children’s Association (WCA), and supporters turned out in force to ensure that there will be funds to support that legacy. The children’s advocacy organization announced today that it raised nearly $300,000 at the event, exceeding the goal by over $43,000.
