The Oath...You Can Swear By It

Let’s get the name out of the way right away. A craft beer sanctuary called “the Oath” is grounds for at least a two-beer discussion about what the name means. In this writer’s case I found out the answer by the end of one classic draft Belgian-style ale. “The Oath wasn’t our first or second choice. The name changed umpteen times before we selected it.

Astorino Announces Hudson Valley Restaurant Week In Westchester

Hudson Valley Restaurant WeekWestchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino joined Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table magazine, and other sponsors at Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford Tuesday to announce Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW). During HVRW, which runs from March 9 to 22, diners will have the chance to sample incredible cuisine offerings from more than 100 restaurants sourced through local produce throughout Westchester.

Concern for Housing for Homeless Families is goal of “Midsummer Dinner” by SHORE and I CARE Organizations

SHORE & I CARE Dinner & AuctionAttendees from all corners of Westchester County, representing business, religious and private sectors, enjoyed a Dinner & Auction evening this summer at the Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck. This successful fundraising event was sponsored by two county-based homeless housing advocacy organizations: SHORE (Sheltering the Homeless is Our Responsibility) and I CARE (Interfaith Council for Affordable Residence) which are currently serving families in the Cities of White Plains and Yonkers, and villages of Sleepy Hollow, Ardsley, Mamaroneck and Larchmont.
